Under no circumstances should PC crossplay be added that would reduce the console playerbase to practically zero. This game is excellent but has small community, unfortunately. It's already worrying to see same name tags on European servers.

Please release a patch soon and enable cross play ASAP the longer you wait the more players you will lose because they will move on the console crowd are impatient. I'm on PS5 in Australia it is 7:41 pm time wich is prime gaming time in the region as of writing this que time is 12 minutes on Frontline and still waiting. It's actually getting worse 2 days in a row now I wait for 5+ minutes to join a lobby with 3-5 players or less even or not at all I quit, I really hope it's because of the crashes and bugs because this game is great, it's the only game I play because nothing else is available on console like this game. Those are small scale games where individual skill can often change the tide of rounds, but sandstorm is a large scale game with large teams (at least where Push is concerned) and this is an issue turning new players away from what should be the core of sandstorm's experience. Yeah, if this was rainbow six siege or counter strike, you'd absolutely have a point.
'Play against good players, you'll get better!' It's only natural high level/experienced players of sandstorm gravitate towards each other since (in my opinion) it can feel like you're the only people clinging to a sinking ship, as harsh as that sounds. I shouldn't have to say this but: there is nothing wrong or criminal about playing with your friends. This will allow the matchmaking system to more evenly distribute high level, veteran players to BOTH teams so that matches are more fair and fun for everyone.
I'm in favor of a change to halve the number of players in a party to 4. The number one thing I see in text or voice chat these days is 'why does one side have so many high levels'?Īs player counts get higher, parties should get larger, right? Wrong. How is the player count on Ps4/5, Insurgency Sandstorm is currently on sale on the PlayStation store and Im thinking of picking it up but Im worried that a game like this on console might not have. 8 player parties is more than half a team sometimes, enough to easily sway the outcome of matches. Im sure this has been asked a million times but I cant find a recent example by searching so Im just gonna ask here.
The low player count is directly effected by this issue which nobody seems to be talking about unless you've been on the wrong side of it. Push matchmaking is seriously compromised by the issue of team stacking.
